The Gospel is enough. This makes sense. You notice in Colossians 1:23 we see that the apostle tells us to not be moved from the Gospel, but to be established in it and unmoving.
It’s kinda pesky that later in Colossians 1:23, Paul makes it clear that the Gospel has been preached to all creation at the time of his letter. That would mean that the Gospel has already been settled. So what about the latest racial upheavals? I think Paul would say that the Gospel is sufficient in this matter, too.
I point this out to you just to remind you that the Biblical Gospel is not lacking or insufficient to address whatever we’re dealing with. It’s enough. That means that preaching the Gospel in a racial unrest situation is just a effective as preaching it in a domestic violence counseling session. The Biblical Gospel is enough. We only need to trust that God knows what He’s doing. Do you trust Him fully?
