Let’s talk with Peter

Dear Woke Christian,

I was reading 1 Peter 3:8-22. It’s a pretty hefty passage. The theme is that we will suffer for righteousness sake.

Peter is using a model that we see all through the Bible. “Do, because it’s been Done”. Sometimes it’s presented differently, but he fact remains. God has done something and He wants us to follow His example. In this passage, Peter tells us to endure, because the Captain of our faith endured and now we’re enabled to do the same.

I wonder when was the last time you reflected on Christ’s suffering for you? He died and endured immense humiliation for you. Peter goes as far to say that by doing this we give a good witness to Christ. So as we’re looking at how to interact with others, I wonder have you considered your witness of Christ?
